The oldest public swimming pool in central Reykjavik, a 1937 building with an indoor lap pool and outdoor hot pots.
Sundhöllin is Reykjavik's historic indoor swimming pool, opened in 1937 and designed by the architect Guðjón Samúelsson, in the centre near Hallgrímskirkja. After renovation it has an outdoor pool, hot pots and a sauna in addition to the original indoor 25 m pool. It is a few minutes' walk from Laugavegur and a cheaper alternative to the lagoons: an adult swim is ISK 1,500 (~$12) under the city fee schedule that took effect on 5 May 2026. The old building has gallery balconies over the pool and a classic interior, and the outdoor hot pots offer views to the nearby rooftops. Showering naked before entering is required.
| Price | Adult ISK 1,500 (~$12); ages 10-17 ISK 400 (~$3.20); ages 0-9 free with a guardian |
