The walk from Nydri to the hilltop village of Rachi is one of the most accessible hiking routes on Lefkada, covering approximately 5 kilometres round trip with 150 metres of elevation gain and taking between two and two and a half hours. The route is suitable for most fitness levels and offers rewarding views relative to the modest effort required.

Nydri is the principal resort town on the east coast of Lefkada and the main departure point for boat trips to the offshore Ionian islands of Meganisi, Kalamos, and Skorpios. The trail departs from behind the main waterfront street and climbs through a landscape of silver-leafed olive groves and fig trees typical of the Lefkada interior. The path is a mix of paved village lanes and earthen tracks through the groves, with no technical sections.

After roughly 2.5 kilometres the trail reaches Rachi, a quiet hilltop village of traditional stone houses sitting at around 150 metres above sea level. The village feels removed from the busy coastal resort below and retains a distinctly rural character. A viewpoint terrace on the edge of Rachi looks east across the Lefkada Sound — the narrow channel between the island and the Akarnanian mainland — and south over the scattered islands of the Lefkada archipelago including Meganisi.

The kafeneio in Rachi provides a natural pause point for coffee or a cold drink before the descent. The return follows the same path. Olive grove paths can be muddy after heavy winter rain, but the route is generally good underfoot throughout the year.
