Best Time to Hike
Plan your hiking adventure for optimal conditions.
🌸 Spring
March-May: Best season for hiking. Wildflowers everywhere, streams flowing, comfortable temperatures (12-22°C). Parnitha's fir forests are particularly beautiful with spring light.
☀️ Summer
June-August: Manageable before 8AM or after 5PM at lower elevations. High mountain trails on Parnitha are cooler but carry water and sun protection. Not recommended for long hikes in midday heat.
🍂 Fall
September-October: Second-best season. Comfortable temperatures, golden light, and the first autumn rains bring the vegetation back to life. Very good visibility for panoramic views.
❄️ Winter
November-February: Lower trails (Hymettus, Filopappou) accessible in mild spells. Parnitha may have snow and trails can be muddy or icy. Cable car operates if conditions allow.
