Burgbergbahn Cable Car and Sommerrodelbahn, Bad Harzburg

The Burgbergbahn is a cable car linking central Bad Harzburg to the summit of the Burgberg, where a summer toboggan run (Sommerrodelbahn) descends the hillside alongside the treetop walkway and the ruins of the Harzburg castle. The cable car requires no particular fitness and suits all ages, including visitors with limited mobility, though boarding involves a short step and staff can assist if needed. The toboggan run is more active: riders control their own wheeled sled and its speed with a hand brake, so a minimum height or age (typically around 3-8 years old accompanied by an adult, depending on current park rules) usually applies, and solo riders need enough strength and coordination to operate the brake lever on curves.
