Lila Eule

Lila Eule has operated as a basement music bar in Bremen's Bermuda Dreieck since 1965, making it one of the longest-running nightlife addresses in Das Viertel. The crowd skews toward students, longtime alternative-music fans, and a scattering of older regulars who have followed the venue for decades; dress is casual and unpretentious, with no dress code enforced at the door. Musically the bar centers on indie, alternative rock, and post-punk, played over the sound system on quiet nights and performed live or spun by resident DJs on programmed evenings, with the basement's low ceilings and close quarters giving every set an intimate, clubby feel. The drinks list is beer- and shot-focused rather than cocktail-driven, with a handful of German draft beers, bottled imports, and inexpensive spirits aimed at a late-night crowd rather than a dinner one. Evenings start around 8PM and stay low-key on weeknights, while Friday and Saturday nights run later and draw the fullest room, particularly when a live band or themed DJ night is booked. There is no cover on most nights, though special concerts or anniversary events occasionally add a modest door charge, and reservations are not part of the venue's culture.
