  • Limited cell coverage in remote mountain areas including Tusheti and Svaneti
  • Bear and wolf presence in national parks - store food securely and make noise on trails
  • Flash floods in canyon areas during heavy rain
  • Loose rocks on steep slopes, especially on Kazbegi trails

🌸 Spring

April-May: Wildflowers carpet mountain meadows, waterfalls at full flow from snowmelt. Lower altitude trails excellent; high passes still snowbound

☀️ Summer

June-August: Peak hiking season when all trails are open. Best for Tusheti (July-September only). Hot at lower elevations; cool and clear in mountains

🍂 Fall

September-October: Excellent hiking with cooler temperatures, autumn foliage, and harvest festivals in wine regions. Tusheti road closes in October

❄️ Winter

November-March: Most mountain trails inaccessible due to snow. Ski resorts at Gudauri and Bakuriani operate. Low-altitude walks in Tbilisi and wine regions possible
