Antibes is a walled port town about 11 km east of Cannes, reached by TER train in 15 to 20 minutes from Gare de Cannes. The old town is enclosed by 17th-century ramparts designed by Vauban's engineers, with the Château Grimaldi housing the Musée Picasso, where Pablo Picasso worked in 1946. The Marché Provençal on Cours Masséna sells vegetables, cheese, flowers and olives every morning, with the market in full flow until about 1PM. The Port Vauban is Europe's largest yacht marina, and a coastal path, the Sentier du Littoral, leads around the Cap d'Antibes past the Plage de la Garoupe and the Villa Eilenroc. Lunch is best on the narrow lanes behind the market.
