Renaissance mansion with a private collection from Cranach to Bonnard.
The Hôtel d'Assézat is a mansion built from 1555 for a rich capitoul merchant of the dye trade of Toulouse, with a courtyard decorated by classical orders. Since 1995 it has housed the Fondation Bemberg, created by the Argentine collector Georges Bemberg. The collections include paintings by Cranach, Canaletto, Tintoretto and Guardi, and a large room dedicated to Bonnard. Furniture, bronzes and decorative arts furnish the rooms. Temporary exhibitions are also held and may increase ticket prices.
