Hôtel de Normandie

Hôtel de Normandie is a three-star hotel at 7 Cours du XXX Juillet in central Bordeaux, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The Cours du XXX Juillet is a broad, tree-lined avenue running alongside the Grand Théâtre and linking Place de la Comédie with the Allées de Tourny, and the hotel's position puts the opera house, the Garonne quays and Place des Quinconces within a few minutes' walk. The Grand Théâtre tram stop and several bus lines are close, offering simple links to Gare Saint-Jean and the Chartrons district. The surrounding streets contain the 18th-century limestone architecture that characterises central Bordeaux, along with the shops of the Triangle d'Or and numerous cafés and brasseries. Rooms are listed as Single, Double and Family categories, so the hotel can accommodate solo travellers, couples and small families, and free wifi is available. No restaurant, spa or pool is listed, making breakfast and dinner a matter of choosing among nearby establishments; the area around the Grand Théâtre has many options serving regional dishes and Bordeaux wines. Published rates run from about EUR 80 to EUR 160 per night, a moderate figure for such a central address, rising at weekends and in summer. The service character is that of a practical, mid-priced city hotel with a staffed reception that can provide city maps, luggage storage and local recommendations, suited to leisure visitors and business travellers who prioritise location over extensive facilities. Because the avenue carries traffic and tram lines, visitors sensitive to noise may wish to request a room away from the road. The hotel is well placed for evening performances at the Grand Théâtre, riverside walks and visits to the Musée d'Aquitaine and the cathedral.
