Spa des Hauts de Loire is the wellness centre of the Domaine des Hauts de Loire, a Relais & Châteaux property set in a 19th-century hunting lodge on the left bank of the Loire near Onzain in Loir-et-Cher, surrounded by a private 35-hectare park of mature forest and manicured gardens. The spa's aesthetic blends the original hunter's lodge stonework with minimalist contemporary interiors, creating an atmosphere of quiet restraint punctuated by deep window openings overlooking the tree canopy. The treatment menu draws on the French vinothérapie tradition, with the flagship vinothérapie full-body treatment using Touraine Sauvignon Blanc grape marc and polyphenol concentrates as exfoliants and wrapping agents. The hot river-stone massage uses smooth flint and quartzite stones collected from the nearby Loire riverbed, heated to 52°C and applied with lavender-infused oil. The thermal hydrotherapy bath is a 30-minute soak in mineral-enriched water at 38°C, functioning as both preparation for deeper bodywork and a standalone restorative treatment. A thalassotherapy jet shower rounds out the hydrotherapy offer, using alternating pressure streams to stimulate circulation before a body massage. The signature French facial is tailored to each guest by the lead esthéticienne and typically lasts 75 minutes. The couples cocoon wrap is the property's most-requested treatment and must be booked at least two weeks in advance during high season (June–September). Facilities include a heated outdoor pool, an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and four treatment rooms. Therapists hold dual certification in massage therapy and hydrotherapy. Non-resident day guests are accepted but should book well in advance, particularly in summer and during French public holiday periods. The hotel's 35-hectare park is open to spa day guests during their visit.
