Sahl Hasheesh Bay lies on the Red Sea coast about 15 to 20 km south of central Hurghada, Egypt, and is a resort development built around a curved sandy bay with a long seafront promenade. The bay opens to the east, which makes it one of the more reliable sunrise locations on the Hurghada coast: the sun lifts straight out of the sea, lighting the water in soft orange and pink, with the beach curve and palm-lined promenade offering leading lines for the foreground. Pre-dawn blue hour is useful for long exposures with a neutral density filter, smoothing the gentle swell around the rocks and jetty edges, while the first 30 minutes after sunrise give warm side-light on the sand and resort facades. The best season runs from October to April, when the air is clear, temperatures are comfortable and the sun rises later and at a gentler angle; in summer the sun is already high and hot within an hour of rising. Clear days with a few high clouds produce the strongest colour. The spot is rarely crowded at dawn, with only a few joggers, hotel guests and fishermen, so tripod position is seldom contested. Public beach access varies, since many stretches belong to hotels, and photographers should shoot from the public promenade or ask permission at hotel beaches. No entry fee applies to the promenade. Tripods are generally fine, while drones require official permission in Egypt and should be avoided. Water and restrooms are available at cafes and hotels along the promenade once they open, which is usually after sunrise, so bring water for an early start.
