Theban Hills Summit Trail

The climb from the Valley of the Kings parking area up and over the Theban Hills plateau gives extraordinary panoramic views of the Valley of the Kings below and, from the summit, the entire Nile Valley stretching north and south. This is the path the ancient priests and workers used to commute to work.

Valley of the Queens to Valley of the Kings Plateau Walk

A cross-plateau walk connecting the two royal necropolises through the high desert of the Theban Hills. The route follows ancient paths with virtually no modern infrastructure, passing dramatic rock formations and offering complete solitude. Best done with a guide.

West Bank Village Walk — Gurna Circuit

Deir el-Bahari Amphitheatre Walk

  • Military/restricted zones on some areas of the West Bank plateau — stick to established paths
  • No shade on most trails — sun protection is critical at all times of year
