Hotel Sanders

Hotel Sanders sits on a quiet side street just off Nyhavn and Kongens Nytorv, a few minutes' walk from the Royal Danish Theatre and Kongens Nytorv metro station. It was founded by former Royal Danish Ballet principal Alexander Kølpin inside an 1869 townhouse, and the interior reflects his personal, theatrical taste, with handpicked European and Asian antiques, plush velvet upholstery, and an atmosphere closer to a private residence than a conventional hotel. The 54 rooms and suites vary widely, from cosy attic rooms to a rooftop terrace suite, each individually furnished rather than following a standard template. The all-day restaurant serves modern European food with strong French and Italian influences, while The Grand Bar downstairs and The Partisan cocktail bar are among the most talked-about drinking spots in the city. There is no large spa or pool, though the hotel offers a small gym and in-room treatments on request.
