Design hostel near Kongens Have and Nyhavn with dorm beds, private rooms, a bar and a social lounge.
Generator Copenhagen is a design-led hostel at Adelgade 90 in Indre By, Copenhagen, Denmark, close to the Kongens Have gardens and within walking distance of Nyhavn. It is part of the Generator hostel brand, which is known across Europe for combining affordable shared accommodation with stylish interiors and a lively social scene. The location is central yet slightly removed from the busiest tourist streets: Rosenborg Castle and Kongens Have are a few minutes away, Nyhavn, Kongens Nytorv and Strøget can be reached on foot, and Nørreport station and Kongens Nytorv metro provide rail, metro and bus links including the route to Copenhagen Airport. Torvehallerne food market is also a short walk. The hostel offers a range of room types to suit different budgets and group sizes, including Dormitory Beds, Private Rooms and Twin Rooms. Indicative rates run from around DKK 150 for a dorm bed to about DKK 900 for a private room depending on season, which makes the property one of the more affordable options in a central location. Amenities include a bar, wifi, a lift, luggage storage and a shared kitchen. The bar and social lounge are the heart of the building, hosting events and giving travellers a place to meet others, while the shared kitchen lets guests prepare their own meals, a useful saving in an expensive city. Guests wanting more variety have the cafes and restaurants of the surrounding Indre By streets close at hand. There is no pool or spa. Service is informal and youthful, with staff able to suggest budget attractions, free walking tours and nightlife, and luggage storage is helpful for those arriving before check-in or leaving late. The hostel suits backpackers, solo travellers, students and groups who prioritise price and atmosphere, though dormitory guests should expect shared bathrooms and some noise. Booking ahead is advisable.
