Paphos is a coastal city in south-west Cyprus, legendary birthplace of Aphrodite, with UNESCO-listed Roman mosaics, a medieval harbour fort, rock-cut royal tombs and beaches.

Paphos stays cluster in four areas. Kato Paphos and the Poseidonos Avenue strip hold the harbour, the UNESCO sites and most 4- and 5-star beach hotels. Ktima, the upper old town, has local tavernas, museums and a few small hotels. Geroskipou and Chlorakas to the east and north have beachfront resorts with more space and lower rates. Coral Bay, Kissonerga and Kouklia are resort areas 15 to 30 minutes away by car, best for beach and golf stays.
