It is the easiest waterfall visit in the area: visitors can park about 200 m from the fall and walk down steps to a pool at its base, while a longer path also links it with the village. The fall is fed by mountain streams and runs best from late winter to early summer. The setting is wooded, shaded and cool, and the rocks around the base are wet and slippery. Platres has cafes, tavernas and small shops a few minutes away, so the stop fits easily into a day in the hills together with the Caledonia Trail. Public buses to Platres exist but are infrequent, and current timetables should be checked on cyprusbybus.com; a rental car or a taxi is more practical. Because the walk is short it suits families and visitors who do not want a long hike, though the steps are steep in places and the climb back up takes longer than the descent.
