The Artemis Trail is a circular walk of about 7 km around Mount Olympus (Chionistra), the highest peak in Cyprus at 1,952 m, in the Troodos mountains. Published sources give the length as 7 to 7.5 km and the walking time as 3 to 4 hours. The route runs through black pine forest at roughly 1,800 to 1,950 m, with views toward the Mediterranean on clear days, and it connects with other marked trails near Troodos Square, including the Atalante Trail. The path is a dirt track and forest path with moderate gradients rather than a steep climb. The air is much cooler than on the coast, which makes the trail usable even in July and August, but the weather can change quickly and snow covers the area in January and February, when the trail is usually unsuitable without winter equipment. Troodos Square has a few cafes and shops, and there is no water on the trail itself, so about 2 litres per person should be carried. The drive from Limassol takes about 1 hour via Platres. Public transport is limited, and a car is the practical choice. Mobile coverage can be weak in places, so the map should be downloaded in advance.
