Banje Beach is Dubrovnik's most prominent and accessible city beach, situated just outside the Ploče Gate at the eastern end of the Old Town walls in southern Dalmatia, Croatia. The beach surface is a mix of small pebbles and coarser shingle. The better-maintained section concentrates around the Eastwest Beach Club in the western half, which offers sunbeds, an infinity bar, cocktail service, and evening dining from around 100 HRK per lounger per day. The eastern end of the beach is public and free, though it receives less maintenance. The water is clear and generally calm, sheltered from the prevailing northwest bura wind by the Lokrum Island headland. Depths increase quickly from the shoreline, making Banje more suitable for swimmers than for young children paddling.
The Eastwest complex provides kayak and paddleboard rental, a party-beach atmosphere in the evenings, and a popular sunset cocktail hour from around 18:00. In summer, the beach operates a DJ programme on Friday and Saturday evenings. Water sports rental including jet skis operates from the eastern end of the beach.
Access is uncomplicated from the Old Town: the walk from the Ploče Gate takes under 10 minutes along a descending path, and a shuttle bus connects the Pile Gate transport hub with the Banje area in summer. Parking is very limited near the beach; visitors arriving by car should use the Ploče city car park or the large car park at Pile Gate.
