Tianjin Eye (Tianjin Zhi Yan)

A 120-meter observation wheel built directly on top of the Yongle Bridge over the Hai River, making it one of the only ferris wheels in the world constructed on a functioning bridge. Opened in 2008, it has 48 enclosed capsules and offers panoramic views over the river, the old concession quarters, and the modern skyline. A full rotation takes about 30 minutes.

Wudadao (Five Great Avenues)

A roughly 1.28 sq km concession-era neighborhood containing more than 2,000 villas built between the 1920s and 1940s in British, French, Italian, Spanish and other European architectural styles. Former residents included Chinese warlords, diplomats and the last Qing emperor Puyi, who lived here in exile in the 1930s. The five tree-lined avenues (Chengde, Munan, Dali, Changde and Machang roads) are best explored slowly on foot.

Ancient Culture Street (Guwenhua Jie)

A reconstructed Qing-dynasty style shopping street along the Hai River in the old Chinese city, centered on the Tianhou Palace, a temple to the sea goddess Mazu first built in 1326. The 600-meter pedestrian street is lined with shops selling New Year woodblock prints, clay figurines (Clay Figure Zhang), calligraphy, tea and Tianjin snacks including Erduoyan fried cakes.

Porcelain House (Ciqikou / Ci Fang)

A French-style villa built in 1923 and later covered from floor to roofline in an estimated 700 million fragments of antique porcelain, jade and stone by collector Zhang Lianzhi over more than a decade. Every wall, column, arch, staircase and courtyard surface is inlaid with pieces of Ming and Qing porcelain, creating one of the most visually dense museums in China.

Italian Style Town (Yidali Fengqingqu)

The restored former Italian concession (1902-1945), the only Italian concession China ever granted and one of only two Italian concessions outside Italy historically. Yellow stucco buildings, arched colonnades and Marco Polo Square have been renovated into a pedestrian district of restaurants, wine bars and boutique shops, particularly lively after dark when the buildings are lit.

Haihe River Night Cruise

An evening sightseeing boat cruise along the Hai River passing the Tianjin Eye, the Century Clock, Jiefang Bridge, the concession-era riverside architecture and the illuminated Tianjin Radio and TV Tower in the distance. Boats depart from several piers including the Gulou (Drum Tower) and Jinwan Plaza docks.
