The Bund is best in winter and autumn when air pollution is lower and visibility is best
Check AQI (air quality index) before planning photography sessions — Shanghai's photogenic skyline disappears in heavy smog
Use the Huangpu River ferry (¥2) to cross to Pudong for close-up shots of the Bund buildings
The best Bund photos are taken FROM Pudong looking west — take the ferry or metro to the Lujiazui side
In the French Concession, shoot just after light rain when streets reflect and colors are saturated
Many museums and attractions prohibit flash and tripods — check before setting up
For night photography of the Bund skyline, a tripod is essential — the full light show runs until 11PM
