Shuxiang Noodle House (蜀香面馆) on Dongpo East Road is a small noodle shop in Shushan Village, Dingshu Town, Yixing, Jiangsu province, China. It stands about 100 metres east of Hongyang Bridge, close to the area around the Dongpo Academy (东坡书院), the memorial to the Song-dynasty poet Su Dongpo, who is said to have lived and taught in Yixing. The shop serves quick noodles at very low prices, typically CNY 15-35 per person, and its signature bowls are beef noodles and spicy noodles. Beef noodles use braised or stewed beef over wheat noodles in a savoury broth, while the spicy version adds chilli oil and seasoning in the style associated with Sichuan, which the shop's name (蜀香, Shu fragrance) suggests. The format is simple: order at the counter or table, receive a steaming bowl within minutes, eat, and go. The dining room is informal, with plain tables, a bright and busy atmosphere and no dress code. There is no significant beverage programme beyond tea, soft drinks and bottled drinks. Reservations are not taken. Opening hours run from about 06:30 to 20:00, making it one of the earlier options in Shushan for breakfast before visiting the academy, the old street and the nearby pottery sites. At peak lunch and weekend dinner, arriving before about 11:30 or 17:30 reduces waiting time, though the shop's fast turnover usually keeps queues short. Visitors who cannot read Chinese menus can point to a neighbour's bowl or use a translation app. The shop is a practical stop for budget travellers and for anyone who wants a quick, filling meal between sightseeing stops in the Shushan area without committing to a full sit-down restaurant.
