Kings Pool Camp stands on the southern bank of a large oxbow lagoon in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, a private concession covering 125,000 hectares on the western bank of the Linyanti River along Botswana's northern border with Namibia. Access is exclusively by light aircraft from Maun or Kasane, arriving at the camp's own dedicated airstrip a short drive from the main lodge. The reserve operates on a low-volume, high-cost conservation model: only a small number of camps hold concessions in Linyanti, and game drive circuits encounter virtually no other vehicles.

Nine tented suites are arranged along the lagoon's edge on raised timber platforms, each with a private plunge pool, outdoor shower, indoor bathroom with double vanity, and a wraparound deck facing the water. Canvas side walls retract fully to merge the interior with the surroundings. Furnishings lean toward a classic safari aesthetic — polished hardwood, leather, brass fittings — without the over-designed character of newer ultra-luxury properties. A family suite with an interconnecting configuration accommodates two adults and up to two children.

Meals are served in the open-sided main lodge or at a private setting beside the lagoon for special occasions. The wine cellar is stocked with South African and international labels. All rates are fully inclusive: twice-daily game drives in open Land Cruisers, boat cruises on the lagoon, catch-and-release fishing, guided walks, and laundry. Fly-camping nights in the reserve can be arranged at additional cost.

Linyanti is one of the most reliable areas in Africa for African wild dog. Resident packs use the concession as a denning territory from July to September and are encountered regularly on morning drives. Elephant herds gather at the lagoon in the dry season in concentrations that rank among the most striking anywhere in Botswana, with hundreds of animals crossing and drinking within sight of camp each afternoon.
