A paved and packed-earth clifftop path linking six ocean beaches between Bondi and Coogee, passing rock pools, cemeteries with ocean views, and outdoor sculpture installations in early spring.
The Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk is Sydney's most popular hiking route, tracing six kilometres of sandstone clifftops between two of the city's best-known beaches. Starting at the southern end of Bondi Beach near the Bondi Icebergs pool, the path passes Tamarama's small, dramatic cove, the family-friendly sands of Bronte, the historic Waverley Cemetery with uninterrupted ocean views, Clovelly's sheltered inlet, and Gordons Bay's snorkelling spot before finishing at Coogee Beach.
The walk is fully signposted, mostly flat with occasional stairs, and can be shortened at any of the intermediate beaches by catching a bus back to the city. In early spring most years, the Sculpture by the Sea outdoor exhibition installs large-scale artworks along the clifftop, drawing especially large crowds to this section of the route.

Frequently asked questions
How long does the full walk take?
Most walkers complete the 6km route in 2 to 3 hours at a relaxed pace, including stops for photos or a swim.
Is the walk suitable for children?
Yes, though the stairs and cliff-edge sections mean young children should be supervised closely; strollers can manage most but not all of the route.
