Rotisería El Gaucho is a classic Argentine rotisserie on Avenida Costanera in Monte Hermoso, a small and relatively unspoiled beach resort on the southern Buenos Aires Province coast about 100 kilometres east of Bahía Blanca. The establishment represents one of Argentina's most enduring food traditions: the rotisería, a takeaway kitchen that roasts whole chickens on the spit and produces empanadas, salads, and prepared foods that local families and beach visitors collect for impromptu meals on the sand or at their holiday houses.

The operation runs from a compact shop-front with rotisserie spits visible through the window and the aroma of roasting garlic chicken drifting onto the street. Whole chickens — the pollo entero al espiedo — are the anchor product, cooked over hours until the skin is crisp and golden and the meat falls from the bone. Monte Hermoso is known for its extended afternoon sun owing to its south-facing beach orientation, and beach days often run longer than at other resorts. El Gaucho's takeaway model fits naturally into this rhythm: families collect a whole chicken, a dozen empanadas, and salads before heading to the beach, assembling a full meal without the formality or expense of a sit-down restaurant. The shop operates without reservations and on a first-come basis. In peak summer, queues form outside from late morning, and popular empanada varieties sell out by early afternoon.
