Hotel San Carlos Chascomus

Hotel San Carlos is a simple, affordable hotel in the lakeside town of Chascomús, one of the most picturesque inland towns of Buenos Aires Province. Situated on the Costanera — the scenic promenade that follows the shoreline of the Laguna de Chascomús, one of Argentina's most famous fishing lagoons — the hotel places guests immediately alongside the water, with direct views over the lake and easy access to the waterfront walk that stretches for several kilometres around the lagoon's edge.

Chascomús is a town of considerable historical character, having been one of the first fortified frontier settlements established in the province during the colonial era. Its well-preserved historic centre, the Museo Pampeano, and the old church near the central plaza are all within a short walk. The lagoon itself, however, is the primary draw: covering roughly 3,000 hectares, it is Argentina's most celebrated pejerrey (silverside) fishery and attracts anglers from across the country throughout the year.

On-site parking is available for guests arriving by private vehicle from Buenos Aires city, which is approximately 120 kilometres to the north-west — a journey of around 90 minutes by car via Route 2. Chascomús is also served by long-distance buses from Constitución station in Buenos Aires city, making it accessible for travellers without private transport.
