Climate Overview

Angola has a tropical climate with a distinct dry season (cacimbo) from May to October and a wet season from November to April. Luanda on the coast is warm year-round (22-30°C) while the southern highlands around Lubango enjoy a temperate climate. The Namib Desert in the far south is hyper-arid. The Benguela Current keeps coastal waters cool and creates morning mist.

🌸 Spring

Sep-Nov

The transition from dry cacimbo season to rains, with warming temperatures and occasional early showers. Landscapes begin greening up after the dry months.

Tips: Good time to visit before the heaviest rains; bring a light waterproof layer for late afternoon showers

Angola's rainy season with hot, humid conditions and daily thunderstorms, especially in the interior. Luanda is hot and sticky. Kalandula Falls at spectacular peak flow.
