The wholesale heart of Cholon, a Chinese-style 1930s market hall with spices, dried goods and household wares.
Binh Tay Market was built in 1928 and 1930 by Quach Dam, a Chinese-Vietnamese merchant, and is the main wholesale market in Cholon. The central courtyard is ringed by two floors of stalls selling dried seafood, spices, tea, herbal medicine, kitchenware and fabric. It is far less touristy than Ben Thanh, and prices are lower, though vendors prefer bulk sales.
