Posada Casa Vieja Mérida

Posada Casa Vieja occupies a historic colonial building in the centre of Mérida, Venezuela's principal university city in the Andes, positioned on the corner of Calle 24 and Avenida 4 within the city's traditional grid. The Plaza Bolívar, Mérida's main cathedral, and the city's celebrated ice cream parlours are within a five-minute walk, and the concentration of restaurants, tour operators, and local markets serving the city's large student and traveller population are immediately accessible on foot. Bus terminals and taxis serving the surrounding Andean towns and villages are a short ride away.

The building is one of Mérida's older structures, with thick whitewashed walls, an internal courtyard, colonial-era arched doorways, and tiled floors. The conversion to a hostel has retained the building's original character: exposed beams, high ceilings, and a rooftop terrace that offers views across the city's tiled rooftops toward the surrounding Andean ridges.
