Historic trading dome with craft stalls.
Tim Abdullakhan is a historic domed trading hall at the old trade crossroads near the Registan in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, and today houses souvenir stalls selling textiles, ceramics, hats, knives and crafts. The covered space gives shade in summer and is a calmer place to browse than the open street, with sellers who generally accept polite bargaining. It is on the route between Registan Square and the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, so it is easy to combine with sightseeing. Typical items are suzani, silk scarves, painted plates and wooden book stands, with prices similar to the Registan area stalls. Hours are not firmly published, but shops generally open mid-morning and close in the evening. Because the dome is a protected historic building, stalls are fixed and trading is orderly. Cash in som is the main payment, with card at some shops.
