Under Canvas Zion

Under Canvas Zion is a luxury glamping camp situated at 3505 Kolob Canyon Road in Virgin, Utah, approximately 15 miles west of Zion National Park's South Entrance via UT-9 and Interstate 15. The camp is set in a high desert landscape at the foot of red sandstone mesas on the western edge of the park's vicinity, offering sweeping canyon views from individual tent sites positioned on elevated wooden platforms that maximize sightlines across the open terrain. The camp operates under the same national brand as Under Canvas Arches, maintaining the same philosophy of delivering boutique hotel amenities within a canvas tent format in proximity to major national park experiences.

The tent lineup includes Stargazer Tents with overhead transparent panels designed for viewing the night sky from bed, Deluxe Tents with king beds and furnished private porches, and Suite Tents with wood-burning stoves, claw-foot soaking tubs, and expanded living areas. All tents are freestanding on raised platforms and include private en-suite bathrooms with hot showers and composting or low-flow toilets. The camp's central dining pavilion serves breakfast items and light fare; evening communal fire pits become a social hub after sunset, particularly on nights when the camp's naturalist hosts guided stargazing sessions.

Activities facilitated through the camp's desk include guided Zion Canyon hiking, canyoneering, rock climbing, and horseback rides. The main attraction is Zion National Park itself: the South Entrance and Zion Canyon shuttle system are reachable in 20–30 minutes by car via US-9 through the town of Springdale. The Virgin River Gorge and Kolob Canyons section of Zion, often overlooked by visitors, is accessible within 10 minutes. Las Vegas, the nearest major airport, is approximately 2.5 hours southwest via I-15.
