The Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza is one of the finest surviving examples of Art Deco architecture in the United States. Opened in 1931 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building's Hall of Mirrors and main lobby feature Brazilian rosewood paneling, hand-painted ceilings, and nickel-silver detailing that remain substantially original after nearly a century. The hotel anchors the corner of Fifth and Race Streets at the center of downtown Cincinnati, connected via the city's skywalk system to the Duke Energy Convention Center and within easy walking distance of Fountain Square, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the riverfront sports venues. The 561 rooms and suites combine the building's historic shell with updated Hilton amenities including high-speed internet, climate control, and Hilton Honors digital key access. The flagship Orchids restaurant occupies the ornate 1931 dining room and serves upscale American cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a wine list drawn from domestic and European producers.
