Hoboken Waterfront

Hoboken's Hudson River Waterfront Walkway runs along the western bank of the Hudson River in Hudson County, New Jersey, offering one of the most celebrated views of the Manhattan skyline available from the New Jersey side. The walkway extends approximately 1.5 miles between the northern Sinatra Park — named for Hoboken native Frank Sinatra — and the southern Pier C park, passing piers converted to park spaces, a fishing pier, volleyball courts, and an outdoor amphitheater. From the walkway, the Empire State Building, One World Trade Center, and the Hudson Yards towers rise directly across the river, with the Financial District skyline visible to the south. The best photography positions are at Pier A (just south of the main PATH station) and Sinatra Park at the northern end, where the Empire State Building aligns with the river at dusk. Hoboken is a compact walkable city with a concentration of well-regarded restaurants and cafes along Washington Street one block inland. The city is also associated with the early history of baseball — Elysian Fields, where the first documented organized baseball game was played in 1846, is marked by a plaque near the waterfront. The PATH train connects Hoboken to lower Manhattan in under 10 minutes, making the waterfront an easy add-on to a New York City trip or a destination in its own right for Hudson River views.
