On First Friday evenings, SOHO functions as one of the busiest gathering points of the event, a crowded and energetic convergence of Honolulu's creative community. On other evenings, it operates at lower intensity as a neighborhood bar with a loyal regular clientele that fills the space without overwhelming it.

Music programming features DJ nights spanning electronic, indie, and experimental genres, along with live performances ranging from local bands to spoken-word events.
