Downtown lake with a central fountain, swan boats and the Orlando skyline in the background.
Lake Eola Park, at 195 N Rosalind Avenue, is the best-known photography location in downtown Orlando. A 43-acre lake is ringed by a paved walkway of about 0.9 miles, with a central fountain that is lit in changing colors after dark, the Linton E. Allen Memorial Fountain. Swans, white and black, are the park's icon, and swan-shaped paddle boats offer foreground interest. The east side of the lake faces west toward the skyline at sunset, while sunrise light grazes the downtown towers from the east. The Walt Disney Amphitheater on the south shore adds an architectural element. Sunday mornings host the Orlando Farmers Market, which fills the park with people, so serious landscape work is better on weekday mornings. A tripod is allowed on public walkways if it does not block traffic. Blue hour offers the best balance between sky and fountain lights, while summer afternoons bring dramatic clouds. Parking is available in nearby garages for a fee. The park is open daily and is free.
