Wales has a temperate maritime climate characterised by mild temperatures, variable rainfall year-round, and changeable conditions. Snowdonia is significantly wetter and colder than the coast and lowlands. West-facing coasts receive the most rainfall brought by Atlantic weather systems. Despite the reputation for rain, Wales sees plenty of good weather, especially May through September, and the landscapes are often strikingly green and lush as a result of the moisture.
