Twr y Felin Hotel stands on Caerfai Road at the edge of St Davids — the smallest city in Britain by population and the only city within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in southwest Wales. The design revolves around a converted Victorian oil-mill windmill tower — Twr y Felin translates from Welsh as Mill Tower — which has been carefully transformed into circular guest rooms with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and toward the Atlantic coast. A purpose-built contemporary building wraps around the tower, housing the hotel's main facilities and a substantial permanent collection of original contemporary artwork: paintings, sculptures, and installation pieces are displayed throughout corridors, lounges, and dining areas, giving the property the atmosphere of a private gallery that also functions as a hotel.
