Abu Dhabi city is the capital of the United Arab Emirates, built on an island linked to the mainland by bridges, with the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Corniche and the theme parks of Yas Island.
Abu Dhabi nightlife is hotel-centred. Alcohol is served in licensed hotels, restaurants and clubs, with the main hubs at the Corniche hotels, Al Maryah Island, Saadiyat Island and Yas Island, where Yas Bay is the party district. Weekend nights run Thursday to Saturday, and the scene is smaller and quieter than in Dubai.
The main styles are rooftop cocktail lounges (Glo, Ray's Bar, AT25), beach clubs and DJ nights on Yas Bay (Café del Mar, 360, WHITE), hotel nightclubs on the Corniche (Les Etoiles) and sports or live-music bars on Yas Island (Y Bar).
