Arsenalna is a station on the Red line of the Kyiv Metro, Ukraine, on Hrushevskoho Street near the Pechersk district, and at about 105.5 metres below ground it is the deepest metro station in the world. Visitors come to ride the very long escalator, which takes several minutes to descend, and to see the plain, deep platform hall. The station also serves as a practical gateway to the Pechersk Lavra, the Holodomor museum, the Motherland Monument and the government quarter, and since 2022 it has been used as an air-raid shelter, so it can be crowded during alerts. A visit for sightseeing purposes takes about 30 minutes, enough to ride down, look around the platform and return. The experience is one of depth and length rather than decoration, and the best photograph is a view along the escalator from the top or bottom. Fare is 30 UAH per ride since 15 July 2026, paid cashless by contactless card or the Kyiv Digital app, and the same fare applies whether the visitor rides one stop or many. Concession rules for children should be checked. Escalator etiquette is to stand on the right and walk on the left. Crowds are heaviest during rush hours, roughly morning and evening, and during alerts when people shelter, so off-peak times are best for a calm look. Typical station hours are about 05:30 to 23:00 or per the wartime schedule, and the station closes after alerts, so the day's status should be checked on Google Maps. Visitors should be considerate of people sheltering and avoid photographing them. The station is the usual transfer point for buses along Mazepy Street toward the Lavra and the Motherland Monument.
