Banana's Inn

Banana's Inn is a small guesthouse in Crown Point on Tobago's southwest tip, within a 10-minute walk of Pigeon Point Heritage Park — one of the most photographed beaches in the Caribbean — and approximately 3 kilometres from ANR Robinson International Airport. Crown Point is Tobago's most developed tourism zone, meaning guests of Banana's Inn have direct access to the island's densest concentration of restaurants, dive shops, car rental agencies, and beach facilities without paying the price premium attached to larger resort properties.

The inn is built around a tropical garden with hammocks, a communal lounge, and shared outdoor seating that create a social atmosphere distinct from the corridors and isolation of conventional hotels. This setup is particularly well-suited to solo travellers and backpacker groups who want to meet other people passing through the island. Rooms are simple and clean with air conditioning and ceiling fans; some face the garden directly. The compact property size means guests interact with the same small group of staff throughout their stay rather than rotating through a large anonymous workforce.

Store Bay, which functions as Tobago's most active local beach with fish fry operators, bake-and-shark vendors, and the famous crab-and-dumplings stalls clustered near the car park, is approximately 1 kilometre from the property — a flat 15-minute walk along roads that are busy during peak season but walkable. Pigeon Point's stretch of white sand and shallow turquoise water is a similar distance; a small entrance fee applies to the Heritage Park and contributes to beach maintenance. The bay is generally calmer than Store Bay's more exposed stretch.

Crown Point's dive operators, running boats to the Buccoo Reef, Japanese Gardens, and Mt. Irvine Wall, are within walking distance or a short taxi ride. Car rental desks in the immediate area allow guests to hire a vehicle for specific day trips to Speyside, Charlotteville, or Argyle Waterfall without committing to daily charges throughout the stay. Airport proximity is a practical bonus for guests with early departures or those spending just a night before or after a flight.
