Unlike the Big Buddha viewpoint which is formal and religious in character, Rang Hill is a neighbourhood park used daily by Phuket Town residents for fitness activities — the summit area has outdoor gym equipment, a dedicated jogging loop, and a concrete exercise platform where group aerobics classes take place in the early morning. A large bronze statue of Phuket-born former governor Phraya Ratsada Nupradit stands at the summit, celebrating his role in introducing tin mining to the island. A handful of casual restaurants and coffee shops on the upper road serve simple Thai food and drinks, making the viewpoint a pleasant place to spend an hour with a coffee as the evening light changes over the bay. The Thai Air Force radar installation at the summit is not accessible, but the public terrace immediately adjacent provides the best unobstructed views.
