Best Time to Visit

Months to Avoid

November to February

Short daylight hours (as few as 7 hours in December), cold temperatures often below 0°C, some outdoor attractions closed, and a grey, dark atmosphere — though Christmas markets in December offer some charm.

Climate Overview

Stockholm has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold, often snowy winters. The city sits at a high latitude meaning dramatic seasonal variations in daylight — from 18+ hours in midsummer to just 7 in December.
