Iški Vintgar is a narrow green gorge carved by the Iška river near Iška vas, in the municipality of Ig south of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The gorge has rock pools, small cascades and steep wooded walls, and its enclosed, shaded setting makes it a good place for long-exposure water photography. Typical frames use the Iška stream flowing over mossy stones in the foreground, with sunlight filtering through the beech and fir canopy above.

Overcast days or early morning give the most even light, because direct sun creates harsh patches of highlight and shadow that are difficult to expose. The best season is May to October, when the foliage is full and the water is clear, and the flow is highest after rain, when cascades are fuller. Autumn adds yellow and orange leaves around the pools, while winter can produce ice but also slippery paths. The gorge is far quieter than major sights such as Bled or Vintgar near Bled, and weekday mornings are often empty, although summer weekends bring families and walkers. A tripod, a 3 to 6 stop ND filter and a microfibre cloth for spray are the standard kit, and waterproof footwear helps at the wet rocks. Tripods are generally unproblematic on the path but should not block narrow sections. Entry arrangements and any parking charges should be confirmed locally. Drones are not practical under the canopy. There are limited facilities near the trailhead, so water and any toilet needs should be planned in Ig or Iška vas.
