Ambient Hotel Domžale

Ambient Hotel Domžale is a family-run hotel at Aškerčeva ulica 6a in the centre of Domžale, a town about 15 km north-east of Ljubljana in the Central Slovenia region. Domžale is known as a centre of the traditional straw-hat industry, celebrated at the local Museum of Straw Hats, and it lies on the edge of the Kamnik Bistrica plain with views towards the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Regular buses link the town with Ljubljana in roughly thirty minutes, and the road connection to the motorway makes it convenient for motorists. The hotel offers an alternative to staying in the capital, with a quieter, small-town atmosphere, lower prices and easier parking. The character of the property is personal and informal, with individually designed rooms rather than a standardised chain look, which reflects its family-run management. Rooms are offered as Double Rooms, Superior Doubles and Family Rooms, all with air conditioning and wifi, and the Family Rooms suit parents travelling with children. A restaurant serves meals, and breakfast is available to guests, giving a local flavour to the dining experience. On-site parking is available, which is a practical advantage for drivers visiting the wider region. There is no spa or pool, and the focus is on comfortable rooms, hospitality and value. The location serves as a base for visiting Kamnik, the Velika Planina plateau, Arboretum Volčji Potok and the Ljubljana old town, all within a short drive or bus ride. Typical rates run from about EUR 70 to EUR 115 per night depending on season, making the hotel an economical choice compared with central Ljubljana. Visitors relying on public transport should check bus timetables, since evening services thin out. The hotel suits motorists, families and business visitors to the local industrial zone who want a calm, good-value base.
