Tokeh Village Guesthouse sits within Tokeh Village itself, a small fishing community on the Western Area Peninsula south of Freetown. The guesthouse is a family-run property — a converted residential compound adapted for traveller accommodation — and functions as the most affordable access point to Tokeh Beach, which lies within a short walk of the village. Tokeh is widely cited among Sierra Leone's finest beaches: a wide arc of pale sand with clear water and far less visitor activity than the Lumley Beach strip closer to the capital. The road south from Freetown to Tokeh typically takes fifty to seventy minutes in the dry season, though the final stretch on the peninsula road can extend considerably during the wet season.

Accommodation is simple. Rooms are furnished with beds, mosquito nets, and ceiling fans; shared or semi-private bathroom facilities are on each floor. Air conditioning is not available. The rooms are kept clean and the construction is solid, prioritising function over aesthetics. A communal sitting area outside serves as the evening gathering space where guests and family members tend to share meals and conversation.

Meals are prepared and served by the family — local dishes including rice with groundnut soup, fresh grilled fish bought directly from village fishermen that morning, and seasonal vegetables. The food reflects the output of a home kitchen rather than a restaurant operation, and represents a meaningful part of the appeal for travellers seeking genuine local engagement with Sierra Leonean coastal life. Meals are pre-arranged with the family the evening before. No formal drinks menu exists; guests typically bring supplies from Freetown or purchase locally in the village.

The guesthouse is fundamentally a base for beach access rather than a destination in its own right. Tokeh Beach is walkable from the compound, and early mornings when the fishing canoes return with overnight catches are a particular highlight of staying in the village. The family can help arrange introductions to local fishermen, assist with transport connections back towards Freetown, and advise on conditions at the beach through the season.
