Seasonal Breakdown

Detailed information for each season.

🌸 Spring

Mar-May

Transitional period between monsoons. April and May see improving conditions with the start of the dry southeast monsoon bringing calmer seas. March can still have northwest monsoon rain and rough northwest-facing beach conditions.

Tips: April and May are excellent shoulder months with fewer tourists, good weather, and reasonable prices. Pack a light rain layer for March visits.

☀️ Summer

Jun-Aug

Peak dry season with southeast trade winds keeping the air fresh and humidity lower than average. Seas calm on most beaches. July and August are peak tourist months with highest prices and most activity.

Tips: Best time for beach holidays and water sports. Book accommodation well in advance. Bring wind protection as southeast trade winds can be persistent at beach level.

🍂 Fall

Sep-Nov

September and October are excellent shoulder months with dry conditions, fewer visitors, and good beach weather. November marks the start of the northwest monsoon with increasing clouds and occasional rain.

Tips: October is arguably the best month to visit - stable dry weather, below-peak prices, and good visibility for diving and snorkeling. Avoid late November onward for northwest coast beaches.

❄️ Winter

Dec-Feb

Northwest monsoon season with regular rainfall, higher humidity, and rougher seas on northwest-facing beaches like Beau Vallon. Southeast-facing beaches remain calm and accessible. Christmas and New Year bring high-season pricing despite being wet season.

Tips: Focus on southeast-facing beaches (Anse Royale, Anse Soleil) during northwest monsoon. December-January still enjoyable if you accept some rain. Bring a good rain jacket.
