Angels Hostel Niš

Angels Hostel sits on Voždova street in central Niš, within easy reach of the 18th-century Niš Fortress, a well-preserved Ottoman citadel open to the public along the Nišava River. Freedom Square (Trg Kralja Milana), the city's main pedestrian meeting point, is a short walk away, as are the covered čaršija market streets lined with traditional craftsmen's shops and ćevabdžinica grills. Niš Constantine the Great Airport is approximately 7 km east of the city centre.

The hostel occupies a traditional town house with rooms arranged over two floors. The atmosphere is social and deliberately informal — common areas function as meeting points where staff and guests organise evening outings to Niš's bar district along the Nišava riverfront. A garden terrace at the rear provides outdoor seating through the warmer months and is a key gathering space in summer.

Accommodation includes mixed dormitories of four to six beds and a small number of private rooms. Bunk beds are solid construction with individual curtains, reading lights, and power sockets available in the upper dormitory categories. Shared bathrooms are maintained with regular cleaning schedules.

The communal kitchen is available for self-catering and is stocked with basic condiments and cooking equipment. Niš is one of the more affordable cities in Serbia for food — the surrounding streets offer cheap ćevapi and pljeskavica grills, traditional pastry shops, and sit-down restaurants at prices well below Belgrade or Novi Sad levels.

Hostel-organised walking tours cover Niš Fortress, the Skull Tower (Ćele Kula) — a historically significant but sobering Ottoman-era monument built after the 1809 Battle of Čegar — and Niška Banja, the thermal spa resort 10 km east. Staff lead tours when demand justifies it and provide self-guided route cards otherwise. The hostel's position and social character make it one of the more popular budget bases in southern Serbia.
