Nisbet Plantation Beach Club

Nisbet Plantation Beach Club occupies the northern shore of Nevis at Newcastle, on a historic coconut estate once belonging to Fanny Nisbet — the woman who married Admiral Horatio Nelson in 1787 at a church nearby. The property's two-storey colonial great house anchors the estate and houses the main restaurant and bar. From the great house, a coconut palm-lined avenue runs directly to the beach — a private stretch of pale volcanic sand with calm Caribbean water — creating one of the most photographed approaches in the Eastern Caribbean. The 36 cottages are distributed along and near this avenue and the beachfront, each individually decorated with four-poster beds, Caribbean antiques, and tropical fabrics. The property markets itself as the Caribbean's only plantation inn sitting directly on a beach, and the combination of colonial atmosphere and genuine beachfront access is a compelling pairing that few comparable properties can claim. Dining is a key part of the guest experience: the great house restaurant serves Caribbean cuisine using produce grown on the estate, while the informal beach bar handles daytime meals and cocktails. A freshwater pool sits between the great house and the beach. Tennis courts, hammocks, and complimentary non-motorised water sports are available. There is no dedicated spa building, but massage treatments can be arranged in-cottage or on the beach through the concierge.
