Golden Lemon Inn & Villas

Golden Lemon Inn and Villas is a boutique property in Dieppe Bay Town, a small fishing village on the far north Atlantic coast of St. Kitts, approximately 25 kilometres from Basseterre along the island's northern ring road. The property was created and operated for decades by Arthur Leaman, a former decorating director at Harper's Bazaar magazine, who purchased the 17th-century great house in the 1960s and built the inn around it. Leaman's influence is still visible throughout: each room and villa features an idiosyncratic mix of antique furniture, bold colour, original art, and locally crafted pieces that resists the visual uniformity of standard resort design. No two rooms are alike in their furnishings or colour palette. The original inn rooms occupy the great house; the attached villas have private plunge pools and greater seclusion, arranged around a shared garden. The beach at Dieppe Bay is a volcanic dark-sand strand characteristic of the island's Atlantic-facing coast, with a small natural rock pool that provides some protection from the open sea. A main swimming pool occupies the garden. The restaurant serves Caribbean-influenced cuisine and is open to non-residents on reservation. Management can arrange snorkelling, island tours, and transport to the calmer Caribbean-side beaches on the western coast. The remote location — a quiet village with minimal passing traffic — is central to the property's appeal: guests who choose Dieppe Bay are actively seeking solitude and architectural character over convenience. Getting to Basseterre requires a car or arranged transfer via the scenic northern circuit road, which passes through several small settlements.
