Doha is Qatar's capital, a Gulf waterfront city where the Museum of Islamic Art, the traditional Souq Waqif, the Katara Cultural Village and the glass towers of West Bay sit within a short drive of each other.
Doha nightlife is hotel-based. Alcohol is sold only in licensed bars and restaurants inside hotels, mainly four- and five-star properties; there are no independent bars or clubs, drinking in public is illegal, and the legal drinking age is 21. Many evenings instead centre on Souq Waqif, shisha cafes, the Corniche and mocktail lounges.
Hotel rooftops and lounges for drinks, Souq Waqif and Katara for shisha and tea, and W Doha cafe-style venues for mocktails (reported at QAR 60–100).
