Msheireb Museums is a cluster of four restored heritage houses inside Msheireb Downtown Doha, Qatar, an urban regeneration district rebuilt around the old Msheireb quarter. Each house tells a different part of the country's story. Bin Jelmood House examines the history of slavery in the Gulf and the wider Indian Ocean trade, and is among the most thought-provoking museums in the region. Company House explains the early oil era and the lives of the workers and foreign staff who shaped modern Qatar. Mohammed Bin Jassim House traces the founding history of the state, while Radwani House shows domestic life and traditional architecture, with its courtyard, wind towers and original features. Displays combine period objects, archival photographs, recordings and interactive screens. Interiors are cool and quiet, and the houses are close enough to walk between in a single outing, with the restored lanes of the district in between. Visitors usually allow two to three hours for all four, and Bin Jelmood House alone can take an hour. Admission is free, with the buildings generally open Saturday to Thursday during the day and on Friday afternoon and evening, and closed Sundays; last entry is shortly before closing. Weekday mornings are the calmest, while Friday evenings and school visits can add crowds. The district itself has shaded passages, the free Msheireb tram and cafes for breaks. Photography is usually permitted in galleries without flash, though staff may restrict certain rooms. The Msheireb Metro interchange is a few minutes on foot, which makes the museums easy to combine with Souq Waqif and the nearby Corniche. For atmosphere, the courtyards of Radwani House and the facade of Company House are the best photo subjects.
